As you may know from other blog posts I have written I shoot a lot for hair salons. Ideally my client wanted the light to look like early morning to late afternoon sunlight. My solution to this problem was simply to put a 30 degree grid on a strobe use that as my key light and then filled in the rest with a white parabolic umbrella tented in what is referred to as Japanese lantern lighting which is a soft non-directional light. It was quite windy that night which in a way was nice. So did I pull it off? Well you can be the judge of that but the client was happy so I am happy.
